I have a love/hate relationship with running. There are days that I can run for miles and enjoy every second and there are days when even looking at my Mizunos gives me an anxiety attack. But I still lace them up. I am not consistent nor am I a power house runner, but I do, for the most part enjoy running.
I started running in 6th grade for the middle school cross country team but stopped when I moved onto high school because that wasn’t cool. I only got back into running after I joined the Army. It was a rough couple of weeks but we began to love each other again. Ever since then I have been running off and on. My goal every year has been to do better at the Gate River Run then I did the previous year. I didn’t run both years I was pregnant; we were NOT friends while I was pregnant.
This past weekend I did my first race since having Baby H, the Wounded Warrior 8K. The most I had run prior to this was 2-3 miles, so I came prepared. I oiled up; Deep Relief on my foot, Joy on my heart, En-R-Gee on my temples; I was ready to go.
And then down came the rain . . . but I wasn’t going to wash away like a spider! I was going to do this! The first two miles I ran with my friend Tara but she urged me to run ahead. I finished the last 3 miles, running, the whole way. I didn’t pay attention to the time but let me tell you I felt like a million bucks! My foot hardly bothered me, I enjoyed running along the river, and I was just plain happy to have some time to myself.
I was overjoyed that the oils worked so well for my run. I didn’t even need coffee after the run I was so pumped. It was a great day. We even celebrated with a date night! Tacos and beer. (And a jalapeño margarita!)
Then Sunday came and I was SORE! But a quick stretch and a few swipes of Deep Relief and I was alright. It wasn’t a tremendous pain so I didn’t need much.
Score! Oils save the day!
Good for you Mama!!! Congrats on your own and BONUS on the oils working so you could enjoy the accomplishment
That was supposed to say congrats on your run
